I've been on a lot of rides before with my friend as pillion to places like kas pathaar, nashik, dhule etc, but this konkan trip to his hometown in pen was one of the best ones so far.

we stayed there for a few days and had a lot of mangoes and fun, but while planning how we were gonna come back we realised we had way more stuff than we brought with us. carrying all that with both of us on the bike would’ve been annoying, so he came back by bus with the luggage while i decided to ride back solo.

instead of taking the usual lonavala route back to pune, i took the tamhini ghat route even though it was around 40 km longer because i’d wanted to ride there for a while. completely worth it honestly.

the ride itself was pretty entertaining throughout. right after getting on the highway i gave a lift to some random guy to his company since it was on the way anyway.

had a few close calls in some sections and especially in tamhini ghat as expected. also had a few random cars tailing me really close for some reason but they still couldn’t get past.

somewhere in the ghat i spotted a random lake from the road and decided to go check it out. there was a muddy trail leading to it and my bike got slightly stuck for a bit too, but the place looked really nice so it was worth it. got a few good photos there before getting back on the road.

also saw a pretty bad car crash somewhere around paud road towards bhukum. the car had gone completely off the road and landed in such a weird position that everyone there was confused how it even happened.

after I reached home and I was looking through the photos and vids I had taken during the ride, i realised that my back number plate on my bike had fallen off somewhere during the ride so now I gotta get a new one made or from rto or something and get it sorted out.

overall it was a really fun ride and probably one of my favourite solo rides till now. saw a few fellow riders too, enjoyed tamhini a lot, and got a lot more confidence riding solo. definitely gonna do more rides like this now.

(chatgpt was used to just express what I wanted to say in a better way)

TLDR: came back solo from pen to pune through tamhini ghat instead of the usual route, gave a random guy a lift, had a few close calls, got my bike slightly stuck near a random lake, saw a crazy car crash near bhukum, and overall had one of my most fun and confidence boosting rides till now.

did my first long solo trip from pen to pune.
