Exobiology is still one of the best ways to make credits in Elite Dangerous, and Stratum is by far one of the most profitable species to hunt.

A normal Stratum sample can pay around 20M credits, but if you get the first discovery bonus, the payout jumps to nearly 100M credits.

So the real objective is simple: find undiscovered Stratum worlds.

A very effective technique is using Spansh ([https://www.spansh.co.uk/bodies](https://www.spansh.co.uk/bodies)) to search for planets matching characteristics commonly associated with Stratum:

* High metal content worlds
* Low gravity (around 0.00 → 0.27)
* Atmospheres such as:
   * Carbon dioxide
   * Sulphur dioxide
   * Water
   * Oxygen
   * Ammonia
   * Thin / hot / rich variants

Set the `Last Updated` date to just before Odyssey release (example: `05/01/2021`).

This filters systems visited before exobiology existed. Many planets were scanned back then, but nobody landed on them, meaning first footfall and first exobio discovery are often still available.

That greatly increases the chances of finding undiscovered Stratum worlds worth \~100M credits.

The problem is that managing everything manually through Spansh can become pretty tedious:

* generating candidate systems
* filtering them
* checking nearby routes
* estimating if planets are worth scanning

And that’s exactly where this app becomes extremely useful:

[Elite Warboard](https://github.com/Mirooz/EliteDangerousWarboard)

(Windows download [here](https://github.com/Mirooz/EliteDangerousWarboard/releases/download/v1.4.1/EliteWarboard-Setup.exe) )

The app has a dedicated `Stratum Undiscovered` mode which makes the entire gameplay loop much smoother and faster.

Based on your current in-game position, it automatically searches for nearby systems likely to contain undiscovered Stratum worlds using the same criteria as above.

But the really useful part is that after scanning a planet, the app also estimates the exobiology potentially present on it.

So instead of constantly going back and forth with Spansh and manually checking everything, the app streamlines the whole process and helps you focus directly on the best candidates.

The app also provides several in-game overlays that can be displayed directly on top of Elite Dangerous:

* species probability overlays
* exobiology information panels
* radar/position helpers for nearby species
* visual tools to make scanning and searching much easier

If you’re a new user trying the app, any feedback is greatly appreciated !
