Question about nonlegendary copy of a permanent that transforms into a legendary

I have [[The Sixth Doctor]]

I cast [[Thousand Moons Smithy]], creating a nonlegendary token copy of it as well.

On my next precombat main phase I tap 5 artifacts and/or creatures to transform both Thousand Moons Smithys.

Does the backside of the token copy remain nonlegendary?
