Android Tablet for Kids

Hi,

I am looking for a tablet for a 5 year old, currently have a fire tablet but the sound is awful and so is the limited app store. Looking to get a new one up to/around £150. This will be mainly used for streaming and lighter games in the near future and maybe some heavier ones (but unlikely)

Currently deciding (but open to other options) between Redmi Pad 2 and HONOR Pad X9a (both currently around £140 on Amazon)

Things I am considering

• RAM: Redmi Pad 2 8gb Honor Pad X9a 6+6 (unsure which would be better)

• Storage: Redmi Pad 2 256gb Honor Pad X9a 128gb (both can be expendable)

• Release year: Redmi Pad 2 2025 Honor Pad 2023/2024 (Will one likely stop updates sooner)

• Software: Redmi Pad 2 Android 15 Honor Pad 13/14 (Will one likely stop updates sooner and become unsupported quicker)

• Speakers: Redmi Pad 2 Quad Speakers Honor Pad 8 Speakers (presume Redmi already a massive upgrade from Fire Tablet)

I dont know if there is anything else worth considering
