Steroid injection or surgery?

Hi All,

My Dupuytren's started about 7 months ago with a nodule on my palm that has grown steadily (it's a little over 1cm now). I do not have any pain and my finger contraction is only slightly affected, but I know it's good to address these things early. My doctor recommended surgery to remove the nodule, but I think he is a little trigger happy... have people had success with steroid injections? What is the recovery time if I did opt for surgery?
