[KCD2] how is the main story?

Hi all, I have really been enjoying my time with KCD2, however, despite being off work last week and playing a significant amount of time, I still haven’t dented the story at all. I have only completed the first of Blacksmith’s quests. I have been running around doing side quests and exploring. My question is, how immersive and great is the main story? Is it really engaging, as the first one of my few drawbacks was it was kind of limited and a lot of going place to place without icy immersion like cutscenes, different characters, etc.

I haven’t actually seen much from the main story so far but it seems much more in depth than the first game.
