Legion Go ignores XBox Controller except in steam.

I played GoW Ragnarök with my xbox controller, but now the Legion doesn't work with its input anymore. The game recognises the controller. But it doesn't react on any inputs. In the legion space it's the same. It only works with steam games (it takes two). Any recommendations?
