This map is what makes NovaRed Mining (CSE: NRED / OTCQB: NREDF) worth a closer look.

The company’s Wilmac Copper-Gold Project sits in British Columbia’s Quesnel porphyry belt, near Princeton, roughly 10–13 km west of Hudbay’s operating Copper Mountain Mine.

That detail matters because Copper Mountain is not an exploration concept. It is a producing copper-gold mine in the same regional system.

Hudbay reports Proven and Probable Reserves at Copper Mountain of about 345 million tonnes grading 0.26% copper and 0.12 g/t gold.

That equals roughly:
• 1.98 billion pounds of copper
• 1.33 million ounces of gold

At current spot prices of about $6.42/lb copper and $4,723/oz gold, that reserve base implies:
• \~$12.7 billion copper (gross metal value)
• \~$6.28 billion gold (gross metal value)
• \~$19 billion total gross metal value

That is not mine economics. It is not NPV, profit, or valuation. It is simply the scale of metal already defined in the same belt Wilmac sits next to.

Wilmac itself covers about 16,078 hectares, or roughly 160 square kilometers. That is around 39,700 acres, about 30,000 football fields, and roughly 2.7 times the size of Manhattan.

It also makes the land package larger than Copper Mountain by area, which matters less for quality and more for how many separate targets can actually be tested across the system.

The North Lamont work adds early technical detail to that exploration picture.

43 soil samples
copper values up to 379 ppm
a western cluster averaging 209 ppm copper
overlap with a magnetic anomaly
Sr/Y ratios consistent with porphyry fertility
transitional V/Sc oxidation signatures

There is also a lab-side comparison that stands out.

Older Aqua Regia testing in nearby areas showed weaker copper response. Follow-up four-acid digestion returned stronger copper values from the same broader system. That changes how historical geochemistry is interpreted when building targets.

The next step is the IP/AMT geophysics program scheduled for 2026. These surveys map subsurface conductivity and structure, helping connect surface geochemistry to what sits at depth.

If those datasets line up, North Lamont moves closer to drill prioritization.

None of this turns Wilmac into Copper Mountain. That comparison would not hold.

What it does show is a large copper-gold land package sitting in a proven mining belt, near an operating benchmark, with early datasets starting to point in consistent directions.

In copper exploration, proximity to known systems does not guarantee results. But it does change how early data gets interpreted, especially when multiple signals begin overlapping in the same area.
