Is there still a Minecraft 1.8 community? (EU)

Are there still active EU servers that use the old version?
Back in the day I used to play competitively, and I quit when the servers switched to the newer versions. In my opinion, that completely ruined the whole PvP scene. That’s when I stopped playing.

To the people who also played competitive 1.8 back then: what’s it like for you nowadays on the newer versions? Can you still even call it PvP? I haven’t really looked into it since then, but I honestly miss the old PvP.
