Do I have any legal options after quitting my job based on false info from employer?

I left my prior job after being told by new job over the phone that my piercings could be covered with blue tape and/or a mask. As many people in the job do that. I spent money preparing to comply. On arrival I was told I could not work with piercings at all. I explained I was told to cover them up but they still told me no. When I asked about wearing a face covering ( ski mask or gaiter ) like the male employees I seen in there, I was told only men could do that. They ask me could I take them out & I told them certain ones I can't. So they sent me out saying "Well you cant work here." Now I’m unemployed and behind on bills. This is very frustrating because i cant get my old job back & it isnt easy trying to find a job as is. Is there anything i could do ?
