26.5.1 driver timeout/black screen/green screen/random reboots fix

asrock tachi 7900xtx with 550w bios flashed.

spent hours doing every trick in the book to fix crashing.

new bios. no overclocking. new windows 10 and 11 tryout out. minimal driver only. disable hags. get rid of chromium based browser and used firefox. reseat gpu. move gpu down on mb. test psu. reseat ram. finally thought maybe my gpu mem or something was overheating even tho the temps were fine. so i repasted. still nothing. it was driving me insane. then finally noticed i upgraded the driver a few days ago and realized this was the whole reason for my driver timout black screen green screens random reboots.

26.5.1 is a terrible driver i couldnt get it to work at all. hope this reaches someone that is having the same problem. i actually looked up which was the best stable driver for 7900xtx and it said 25.3.1 which is a WHQL driver. been running great at 480w for about 16 hours no hiccups. i havent tried the full driver install i used minimal and fan control app and msi afterburner for clocking. might try full install so i dont have to have those extra programs and driver seems stable enough to do full install. have a great day yall. 😄
