What even is a "Real" EC

i was at mcdonalds today telling my friends about what activities i should include in my application this coming August but was interrupted by them telling me: "yeah cool but all of those dont have merit cause they: a) are silly projects, b) have no real impact, and c) dont have proper, widely recognised orgs/certifications behind them"

Here are the things I brought up in the convo that they discouraged me from mentioning:

- Props handler/prop department leader for a bunch of plays (not any professional ones just stuff on school campus)

- Did a project with my friends in Year 11 that was dedicated to celebrating Intl/My country's Women's Day, in which I was assistant director/supporting actor for a music video. Project got revived in Year 12 and I was the props/costumes guy (they told me i was dumb for bringing this up because it just between the guys in my class)

- Pretty much was (still is) my dad's accountant for his construction business for 3 years (drafted and finished a bunch of contracts/sales reports/revenue sheets for him)

- Plays 3 instruments (no awards no performances :(( )

can someone give their 2 cents on this matter for me 😭 are these even meaningful at all
