Does anyone else constantly feel like their environment is hostile to their true self?
I am not diagnosed, but I identify heavily with quite a few autistic and adhd traits.
I am currently doing somatic trauma therapy and this subject came up that I constantly feel like my environment is hostile to me. I feel it as a sort of simmering anxiety.
When I talked about this with the therapist, she seemed to suggest there is a way to not feel this way. But to be honest, I am not sure. Most things I have learned about other humans and society is that I can only be myself among very specific individuals and being a "productive" member of society and being myself are fundamentally at odds.
What are your thoughts to this? Has anyone conquered this feeling?
