I Need To Date A Mother-Like Figure

I was asked, "Are there any people out there that you could potentially date and turn into a girlfriend?"

I guess so. I mean, I'm an attractive guy. But I'm a little bit like a man-child who's getting taken care of by my mother as I approach 40 years old.

And I have friends and I get along with them, but I don't think me and these friends are really compatible as long-term romantic partners. I feel like we're too similar. I kind of need someone to take care of me who's aggressive and motherly in a relationship. Not to say I don't like these friends. I like them a lot. But I don't think we could work because we're too similar. You know what I mean?

They say, "Then why don't you date your mother?"

Well, my mother's in her 70s, or approaching her 70s. And incest is a crime, and nobody wants to date their mother, but people want to date people who are like their mother, like their parents.

I think that's what Freud used to say. Everybody wants to basically date their mother, right? Didn't Freud used to say that? I mean, Freud was a little Oedipus, but Freud was very into that whole thing.

But also they say women want an independent man, not a man-child. They want someone who takes charge, who's in control.

I'm like, "Yeah, fair enough."

But there's a lot of rock musicians. Case in point, Ozzy Osbourne... it's okay if you need to get taken care of because you're a little defective and damaged. You could find a girlfriend, obviously, who's not biologically related to you, who's like a mother-like figure to you and takes care of you. There's no shame in that, especially if your executive functioning isn't all that high.
