Karlach Monk build

I want to use Karlach as a monk, which is a popular build since Soul Coins give a damage bonus. In my head I was going to do monk/giant barb build because I like the idea of a huge Karlach swinging fists and kicking enemies off of things.

Does 6/6 split make the most sense or 7m/5b? I'll lose out on some cool monk features but I could get elemental cleaver.
