Ok I know what I’m going to do
I was recently quoted $1,691 at dodge dealership for a differentials drain and fill, transfer case drain and fill and transmission drain and fill with a new oil pan with an integrated filter.
Thinking about doing the front/rear differential and transfer case services myself on my 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4. I watched a video and it seemed pretty straight forward. and just having my mechanic handle the ZF 8-speed transmission service since that procedure seems a lot more precise with the temp checks, cycling through gears, RPM procedure, and fluid level setup.
The diffs and transfer case seem pretty straightforward drain and fills as long as the correct OEM fluids are used.
Does that sound reasonable or is there anything specific I should watch out for on the diffs/transfer case on these trucks?
