What was the first 'grown-up' furniture piece you upgraded?
After living in an apartment for a few years, I'm suddenly really tired of my place feeling temporary. It's not that the furniture doesn't work. The IKEA bookshelf is still standing, the little Amazon coffee table isn't broken, and the TV stand is technically doing its job. But the whole space feels so patched together. It kind of looks like the first batch of furniture I bought right after graduating. Now I want to slowly upgrade my living room. I'm not trying to make it look fancy or expensive, I just want it to feel a little more grown-up. Maybe a sturdier media console, a cabinet with actual storage, and a sofa bed that could work when guests stay over. Ideally, I'd love something fully assembled too. I'm honestly done fighting with screws and instruction manuals. When you started upgrading from cheaper furniture, what was the first thing you replaced?
