Gov 312 X on Transcript Any Updates?

I got my Exam 3 grade back in Canvas, but I also received an “X” on my transcript. Since I didn’t cheat on the exam and my Exam 3 grade was released, I’m a little confused about what this means.

In the announcement, the professor said: “If you see a ZERO in your exam 3 grade, reread the Canvas announcement of April 23 and the discussion below about Academic Integrity.” Since I received my grade on Exam 3, does that mean the academic dishonesty accusation may not be related to the final exam but instead sth like the textbook homework?

I’ve also heard some people say it can take the Dean’s Office months to review these cases. Is that actually true?
