How did you come to terms with leaving someone you really loved and perhaps still do (a little)?

Romance/Relationships

Looking for advice. I don't want to go into details in this post, but our relationship got a big hit regarding trust as he lied about serious money issues. I was absolutely heartbroken. Despite this he always was and still is such a wonderful, sweet, kind and caring person. He always supported me, was there for me when I needed him. He just feels right in so many ways.

Still, after the incident I started gradually falling out of love. I can't trust him anymore and I'm done. Whenever we're spending some time together, I'm so easily annoyed by the simplest things. I started looking forward to him leaving the house so I can be on my own which just feels so peaceful. At the same time I miss my "old" partner terribly. The person he was to me before the incident. I'm so angry at him that this had to happen, it feels like he ruined everything with his actions and multiple lies. I've given him the benefit of the doubt, supported him, but it didn't matter. This grief is so dark, heavy and venomous, I hate it. I can't really come to terms leaving behind what I loved about him. A part of me is obviously villainizing him, another doesn't want to.

How did you go through this terrible mix of feelings? I know the relationship is over, this part I can accept. I still want to scream. I can't accept reality, that this good and lovely person just ruined our relationship and I really wish it was different. With my previous breakups it had always been so clear and easy, this one is so confusing and beyond sad.
