How do violent sports get moderated? (inciting violence)

🙏Need Advice❓

I got my first rule violation this past week for 'encouraging violence' on a hockey thread which leads me to a question. I moderate a subreddit where we often have to remove comments that are truly inciting violence, but was curious, how does reddit handle violent sports? MMA, Boxing, Hockey, etc. When comments talk about the athletes hitting each other, etc.?

For context: My comment was on the Wild vs Avs hockey game thread, where in game two, one of their players accidentally punched a ref. https://youtube.com/shorts/YFGr5tpV2qw?si=KjPvAqh3UNSxSZwZ The next game an Avs fan was complaining about the refs and I commented "your player should punch the ref in the face again just for the memes." and I got a reddit admin removal of my comment for inciting violence (not from the subreddit mods). I appealed as it was obviously a joke with context, but then my appeal also failed which left be a little bewildered on how violent sports are moderated which leads me to this question of what is or isn't acceptable.
