Does WGU help with internships?

Yes, Western Governors University (WGU) does help students with internships, but it works differently from traditional colleges. Instead of guaranteeing or assigning internships, WGU provides access to career platforms like Handshake, LinkedIn, and partner programs where students can find and apply for internship opportunities on their own. The university’s Career & Professional Development team also offers guidance, resume help, and career coaching to support students in securing internships, micro-internships, or real-world experience. However, internships are not automatically required or placed by the school, so students are expected to actively search and compete for them just like they would in the job market.
