Just watched the first 4 movies

I feel like I’m missing the plot or something…. Do the movies just suck? Katniss kinda sucks? The love triangle sucks, I hear people hate Gale? He’s easily my favorite of the 3. Also the ending to mocking jay was super predictable. Like a child could have guessed it. Going to watch the next movies bc I hear they focus on more interesting characters imo. Are the books that much better?
