What is the closest you can legally and...somewhat safely...park for free near EDC?

I don't mind walking much but...the way the Speedway sits out there by itself, there's just not a lot of options to get on or off the freeway.

There's nothing to the North and East.

To the West There's Speedway Blvd to I-15...and also Tropical to just the 215 I think.

To the south is the intersection of Nellis, Craig, and LVB. Pass.

If I could just find a safe spot to park on the other side of the freeway I could avoid a lot of madness, but...there's just nothing out there. Not even a bar to chill at for an hour or two until traffic dies down.
