Old app versions safe to download and install from the Aurora store?

I need to download an older version of an app I use as the new version just redirects to the Google play store (which I don't use) any time I open it. Are the older apks on the Aurora store likely to be any less safe than the up to date ones? I've tried finding this out myself but can't find a solid answer (though I'm also very much a noob when it comes to degoogling). Thanks.
