Intermittent starting issue

This has been happening for well over a year now.

Maybe 25% of the time (and it’s getting worse), when I press the ignition, the whole dash dims to black, headlights dim to black, absolute silence. Then after a second or two of holding in the ignition button the bike starts. Scares me every time.

Does it on a fully charged battery.

Seems to be totally random whether it happens or not. Will do it then not do it for a day or two.
