Dwemer avoidance of Meridia influence

I have a theory about Dwemer seeking shelter in underground not just because of the other races present pose a threat, also because Meridia deems Dwemeri machines, automatons as 'false life' as it involves soul gems and soul trapping. Meridia is associated with sun, I cannot say how exactly but this made Dwemer even more wary against Meridia possibly more than the other Daedra.
