Where can I find the best beach tennis paddles for beginners?
Found beach tennis at the coast on holiday & wanted to play again once I got home. The equipment looked simple but after some research into rackets (paddles), the amount of variation in construction materials surprised me for what looked like a basic game. Browsed Alibaba to assess what beach tennis paddle manufacturers were doing design-wise - density of foam, glass vs carbon faces, circumference of grip, balance of weight - all greatly varying across suppliers in ways that appeared to me to matter considerably for beginner elements of service and ball trajectory, in different directions.
A beach tennis and paddle sports Facebook group with players of varying skill levels had great equipment discussion with a genuine passion. Members mentioned Babolat and Quicksand as well established beach tennis brands with beginner lines and recommended starting out with foam core rather than other tougher materials to help brand new players develop form. Someone explained that the heavier paddles needed some basic technique to be employed before they could be effectively put to use - lighter paddle options were the clear starter recommendation.
Ordered myself a starting Babolat beginner paddle after reading Alibaba helped learn what the construction specifications indicated about playability characteristics. The control vs bouncing around trying to borrow whatever looked suitable on the beach was noticeable, the Alibaba research having familiarised myself with what the paddle specifications denoted practically so it was less about preference of brand.
