I built a "Meal Decider" to solve my own dinner decision fatigue
As an indie dev, I usually spend my days solving logic problems, but for some reason, the simple logic of "what should I eat for dinner?" always broke my brain. I’d spend 30 minutes staring at the fridge or scrolling through delivery apps, only to end up more stressed and still hungry.
I got tired of the daily decision fatigue, so I decided to build a tool for myself to handle it: Yummay! - Meal Decider.
I designed it to be super lightweight—no social features, no bloat, just a quick way to outsource that final choice. I’ve been using it to store my "low-effort" staples, and it’s honestly saved my evenings.
I figured if I’m struggling with this "choice paralysis," some of you might be too, so I wanted to share it with the community.
How it works:
- You put in your favorite meals or what’s currently in your kitchen.
- Spin the wheel.
- Let the app take the mental load so you can just start cooking.
If you want to give it a try, you can find it here: Yummay! on the Play Store
Its currently only avaiable on the google play store since I only use android.
Would love to hear what you guys think, or how you usually get past that "I can't decide" rut!
