Against the grid bottleneck backdrop, NovaRed Mining’s Wilmac Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia offers exposure to a potential future copper source in a secure North American jurisdiction.

The grid story matters because AI data centers, EV charging, renewables, battery storage, industrial reshoring, and power transmission all depend on copper-heavy infrastructure. Power cables, transformers, substations, switchgear, motors, and other electrical systems all rely on copper to move and stabilize electricity at scale.

Wilmac now covers about 16,078 hectares, giving NovaRed enough physical space for a district-style exploration approach. That is about 160 square kilometers, roughly 2.7 times Manhattan, or around 30,000 football fields of exploration ground.

The project also sits in a well-known geological setting. It is located in British Columbia’s Quesnel porphyry belt, about 10 km west of Copper Mountain Mine, a producing copper operation run by Hudbay. That proximity does not confirm similar mineralization, but it places Wilmac inside an active copper-gold mining corridor.

The North Lamont results add a more defined exploration signal. NovaRed reported copper-in-soil values up to 379 ppm, with a western cluster averaging 209 ppm Cu across nine samples above 150 ppm. Those results align with magnetic anomalies and porphyry-style geochemical indicators.

The next step is IP/AMT geophysics. If the subsurface conductivity and resistivity patterns match the soil geochemistry and magnetic response, North Lamont could shift from a moderate-priority target toward a higher-priority drill area.
