Transfer of profile from UAE to India for F1 Visa

Hey everyone, hoping someone here has dealt with something similar.
Situation:
I filed a B1/B2 visa application in late 2024 with UAE as my application country, since I was living there at the time. I had an interview scheduled but couldn’t attend due to university exams. I’ve since moved to India and have been admitted to a Master’s program in the US, so I now need to switch to an F1 and schedule my interview from India.
The issue:
The UAE portal isn’t letting me do anything — there’s no active appointment to cancel, and the “Continue Application” option doesn’t appear on my dashboard. The standard transfer flow seems to require cancelling an existing appointment first, but there’s nothing there to cancel.
On top of that, I can’t retrieve my legacy account details from the UAE portal, so I’m essentially locked out of making any changes.
What I’ve done:
• Contacted support and followed the instructions given. Unfortunately, no resolution so far
• Attempted to navigate the self-service transfer flow, not available on my profile
• Sent a formal email requesting a manual transfer and account access restoration
My questions:
1. Has anyone successfully gotten their application country transferred via the support email route when the portal is completely stuck?
2. Did you have to submit any supporting documents (admission letter, proof of residence, etc.)?
3. Is there a more effective contact channel: such as reaching the consulate directly or using a specific escalation email?
I’m aware a new MRV fee will be needed after the transfer and I’m fine with that. I just need the profile unlocked so I can actually move forward. My program start is approaching and I’m running out of time.
Any help is really appreciated 🙏
