LVT/Korlok onto chipboard?

Hi everyone,

Looking at getting some LVT installed, currently looking at Karndean Korlok.

Living in an apartment that has chipboard as the subfloor. Overall it’s pretty even and has no issues. Part of the apartment has LVT down with a foam panel underlay.

As I can’t put LVT with backing/karndean Korlok onto foam board, could I put it directly onto the chipboard? Or do I need to plywood everything? Plywood is just adding a lot of cost which is my main concern, along with time.

Thank you in advance
