Tax Deductions as a Pilot

I’m wondering if being a freelance instructor could help offset the income tax on me as an airline pilot. As a freelance instructor you are self employed. You could also register as a business and go that route. I already have my instructor rating so I wouldn’t have to pay for it.

Any other routes are also exciting to me. It doesn’t have to be flight instruction. I have it as a first option though because it’s really all I know aside from fitness.

Just wondering what you folks think.
