What should an out of state community college transfer be doing to get accepted?

I’m at community college in Virginia and I want to transfer to UT Austin. Can you guys give some advice on activities, projects, internship ideas and also scholarship recommendations? For reference I’m an Engineering major with a political science minor, I just completed my first year at community colleges with all A’s and one C (I’ll be retaking that class to earn an A). I’m also the vice president of our PHI THETA KAPA honor society. It’s my first time posting on here so thank you guys so much!
