Any reason to not do a free year of spectrum/charter

I'm incredibly dumb about anything mobile. I've never really used them at all and never needed to. But reality is i need to start and now im tryingto figure out allthis stuff about what phones are worth getting and all the different "plans" and it's completely overwhelming. Any tips/warnings/considerations i need to be aware of. the charter/spectrum deal is becausei have their other services. i tried talkingtosomeone working there and it almost seemedlike even they didnt understand their own policies and issues i might encounter. just consider me an 80 year old that knows nothing about this stuff. LOL.

any decent help/advice appreciated.
