Academic Major Demotion to Academic Minors

Hot take: Many majors are useless and should be demoted to academic minors.

Included on that list are majors like Psychology, Poli Sci and Communications. Universities fully understand that these majors have low ROI and most of the graduates will earn low wages upon graduation with only a bachelors degree, yet most will have to pay back ridiculous amounts of student loans with limited ability to pay back the loans.

Specifically, in the case of psychology, universities fully understand that most of the graduates will not go on to grad school which is one of the few paths to make a decent living with this degree. In addition, you don't need an undergrad psych degree to be a be a psychologist. Universities are fully complicit in the scam and they maintain these programs for college athletes to have a field of study and to exploit First Gen/Low Income college students.

The solution here is to eliminate these programs as undergrad academic majors and demote them to academic minors.
