Anyone else noticing how hard it’s becoming to trust resumes lately?

Lately I’ve been feeling like hiring is getting much harder than it used to be, especially with remote jobs and AI tools making it easier for people to exaggerate experience or present themselves differently online.

I’ve seen more discussions about fake experience, copied portfolios, proxy interviews, and resumes that look perfect on paper but don’t match the actual candidate during the process.

What makes it more difficult is that proper verification takes time and money, so a lot of recruiters and smaller companies end up relying mostly on trust until the later stages of hiring.

At the same time, genuine candidates are also affected because it’s becoming harder for recruiters to know who is actually credible and who just has a polished resume.

Do you think hiring will eventually move more toward verified profiles and verified work history instead of traditional resumes alone, or is that unrealistic?
