Is communications and finance major worth it?

I want to work in Public relations or Project management and was thinking of doing comms and finance in university, either as major-minor or double major. I've heard some people say that both careers are not worth it and that they have since then changed their own career paths, hence why I decided to do finance too, so that if PR or PM fail me I can turn to finance and do some job in it. What would you suggest?
