Help a brother
I wanted to seek some honest advice regarding my career and financial future.
I completed my intermediate in 2017 and initially planned to pursue BDS(dentistry) because my father owns a dental hospital. However, due to personal and family-related issues, things did not go as planned. Although my father had assets and the ability to support my education, he decided not to invest further in me, and eventually I also stepped away from the family business in 2024 to try building something independently.
Over the years, I explored different fields and niches, trying to find stability and direction. It was mentally difficult at times because I felt behind compared to others my age, but I kept trying instead of giving up completely.
Recently, I finally decided to commit to ACCA and build a proper long-term career in finance and accounting. I have cleared two foundation papers, and I am trying to stay disciplined and focused this time.
At the moment, I am 26 years old. I currently do an online remote job that pays around PKR 45,000 per month while taking only about 2 hours daily, which gives me time to continue my studies. Over time, I also managed to save around PKR 700,000 which I have invested in mutual funds instead of keeping idle and and 10 tola gold as well.
My goal now is to become financially independent before the age of 30. I know I started late and made mistakes along the way, but I genuinely want to build a stable future through consistent effort rather than shortcuts.
I would sincerely appreciate any advice regarding:
- career direction,
- increasing income,
- building long-term financial stability,
- remote work opportunities,
- or whether ACCA is still a strong path for someone in my situation.
