Career change or more AQs

I’m currently a P/J teacher and I do get LTOs (teaching 4 years) but I also have been supplying more this year then the last 4 years combined. Supplying is so unfulfilling for me and truthfully, I just feel like a warm body. I’m coming up on that 5 year mark and I hear this is when teachers start to get a little squirrely. Is it worth taking more A/Qs so that I can potentially apply for intermediate and high school? Or should I be thinking about something completely different. Supplying has been so scarce this year, I had to pick up another part time job just to keep me a float. Why is it so hard to get permanent and how much ass do I have to kiss to get there?
