Should I opt for Honors or stick with regular B.Tech? Need advice asap
Hey everyone,
I’m a college student about to enter my 3rd year of B.Tech in Information Technology next month. Right now, I’m honestly unsure whether I’ll go for higher studies after graduation or directly look for a job.
My college has started offering Honors, but here’s the catch: they said from this year onwards there won’t be separate honors classes. Instead, we’ll just have to clear NPTEL exams to get the marks (still under discussion, not finalized yet).
Now I’m stuck — is it really worth taking Honors in this format? Or should I just graduate with a regular B.Tech degree and focus on internships/skills instead?
The college wants my decision within 2 days, and I’m super confused. Would love to hear from seniors or anyone who’s been through this — does Honors actually make a difference in placements or higher studies, or is it just extra workload for minimal benefit?
Thanks in advance!
