Apprehension about relationship and outcome??
I am so confused.
I am experiencing so much anxiety when it comes to this situation, and I simply cannot comprehend why.
For context: I am talking to this guy (we are both upperclassman in high school, 16M, 17F) and I am meeting his family soon. I feel confused about my feelings towards him and about how this is going to play out in the future. We met at school, we were friends for about six months, and have been in a “talking stage” for about a month and a half to two months. He is everything that I could want in a guy. He is husband material. And I know that sounds ridiculous to say as a high schooler, but it’s true. He is respectful, insanely intelligent, he pays attention to the tiny details, and he truly cares. All of out text conversations are in long paragraphs and our phone calls always last more than an hour. So why do I feel this apprehension? I feel like something is missing. For some background, last year I was in a whirlwind situationship with a guy. And although it ended badly, the whole thing felt like a romcom. It was exactly how I imagined love would feel like….and it ended very badly. Am I feeling this confusion and anxiety because I am scared to get into a relationship for fear of being heartbroken again? Or things not ending right?
Another thing is how serious he is. Yes, he can be funny and silly, but he is usually a very serious, very mature individual. Maybe I’m worried about compatibility? We have so many things in common and we get along so well…but sometimes I wonder if we aren’t meant to be romantically? However, I am asexual, so sometimes it can be a little harder to determine whether I’m romantically interested in someone.
And I know you’re probably thinking it’s not a big deal, you’re in high school, blah blah blah. And yes, I know.
But I do live in a Christian house and my whole life is kinda around that. And the christian dating culture is very serious and very marriage orientated. Kind of a “you’re stuck for life” culture. And I’m scared.
TL;DR
