Animal Lovers

I use to think people that love animals were cool, salt of the earth people. They are usually pretty humble. But now I seem them differently. I see their love for animals as a rejection of people. You’ll hear them say things like “I like animals more than I like people” I find it sad and pathetic.

They have all the empathy in the world for creatures they can’t speak to. But none for creatures that look like themselves. Sure some humans are messed up. I’m guessing some creatures are messed up as well. Empathy that only extends to a certain group or creatures is merely a bigotry variation.
