Not sure if my internet/PC is still running bad or if this is how normal wifi speed is like? faw
PC Specs: Ryzen 7 5700X 32GB RAM RTX 4060 Ti
I’m using wifi (not ethernet). running a cable isn’t really an option for me since my parents don’t allow it (they’re worried about dogs chewing wires and a bunch of other stuff). The PC itself is a prebuilt I got as a gift.
So I was having pretty bad network issues before random disconnects, “no internet” errors, getting kicked from games, lag spikes, etc. even though other devices on the same WiFi were fine.
I figured out the WiFi card that came with my pc was the problem, so I replaced it with a TP-Link Archer TXE70UH (AXE5400). That fixed the major issues, no more disconnects of wifi or getting disconnecting from fps games, stable connection, ping in games is now around 13–14 ms, No more huge lag spikes in games
But now I’m unsure about general browsing performance.
Things feel slightly slow, for example opening YouTube in a new tab takes like 3 seconds Reddit takes like 2 seconds to load initially while clicking posts/subreddits takes ~1–3 seconds to load.
Youtube is fine after it's loaded tho yt videos play instantly, even if I skip around in long videos and theres no stuttering during playback
I'm not sure if this is a chrome or network issue (or me just not knowing what normal wifi speed is like) like i'll have Chrome open in the background while playing Valorant (in windowed fullscreen which this only happens in windowed fullscreen. fullscreen has no problems with chrome), I get lag spikes and higher ping and closing Chrome fixes it immediately.
On SpeedTest these were my results > Download Mbps: 44.42 > Upload Mbps > 54.89 >Ping ms 2.
