I want to help a friend finish his dream, but I don’t know if I’m helping enough.

Asking Question (Rule 4)

I’m writing this because lately I’ve been feeling worried for a friend.

He’s been working on this creative furniture / design project for a long time. From the very first time we talked about it, I could tell this wasn’t just some random idea to him.

He’s spent a lot of time, money, and energy trying to turn these ideas into something real. But honestly, I feel like he also put a part of himself into it too.

One thing I really admire about him is the way he looks at ordinary objects. Lamps, small furniture pieces, tableware, little home objects that most people probably don’t think much about — he somehow sees more possibilities in them. More interaction, more emotion, more personality.

I don’t think he’s just trying to make products to make money.
I think he’s trying to create something that carries the way he sees the world.

But the hard part is… we honestly don’t know if other people feel the same way.

We tried posting some of the designs on social media, but the response was really quiet. A few likes, barely any comments, and almost no real feedback.

And it’s hard not to start questioning everything.
Is the design not good enough?
Are we showing it the wrong way?
Or maybe we just haven’t found the right people yet.

To be honest, I feel kind of helpless sometimes.

Because I really do want to help him. I genuinely believe he has unique ideas. But I’m not a designer, and I’m definitely not a business person.

Sometimes I even worry that my encouragement alone isn’t enough, and that he’ll keep spending time and money on something uncertain.

So I wanted to ask here, because sometimes strangers are more honest than people close to you.

Would you actually put something like this in your home?
Would it feel interesting to you?
Or would it just feel too unusual?

And if you honestly think this kind of thing has no chance, it’s okay to say that too.

I’m not looking for compliments for him.
I just don’t want him to feel like he’s building all of this alone in the dark.

Any real thoughts would honestly mean a lot.
