Remote work
As I’m looking for work I’m finding that most opportunities are completely remote. I’m also finding a lot of therapists are moving toward telehealth only. Other than the benefits for people with disabilities, transportation issues, and the affordability due to not needing to pay rent, I really dislike this turn. Do we not find value in sharing an actual space with our clients anymore? In a society where we’re interacting through screens constantly, I don’t understand how this field is encouraging this so intensely. I’m curious how everyone else feels about this because I feel like it’s cheapening not only the therapeutic relationship but also contributing to a greater societal issue.
