text prediction only works in GUI, and not fiori tiles

i recently got a new work laptop and now my text prediction (auto complete) isn't working. i googled everything to clear the cache and ensuring 'show enhanced search automatically' is on.

the text prediction works when i use GUI, but not when i use fiori tiles. Does anybody know how to fix this?
