Nepal’s Censor Board Deserves an Apology After Laalibazar
When I first heard that the censor board had halted the release of the movie Laalibazar and saw Swastima and the “Kharani gang ko leader” /s protesting at Maitighar, I genuinely felt sad. I thought, “Damnnn the censor board is killing Nepali cinema again.”
But today, after finally watching the movie, I have nothing but respect for the censor board of Nepal. They were actually trying to protect us from a 3-hour cringe where Swastima cried for almost 2 hours straight, the character development went missing like my motivation to live , and the writing felt so weak.
At one point I wasn’t even watching a movie anymore… I was just waiting for the suffering to end. I didn't watch that movie, I survived it!!!
Honestly, what did I even watch?
And the worst part? It’s actually my fault. I voluntarily went to watch a Nepali movie.
Swastima didi, if you’re reading this, please…pleaseee I want my money back. 😭
I have some other plans for tomorrow and I really need that money.
