Need a pair of free shipping men’s jeans.
Needed to get several jeans to replace a few pairs after laboring at an office desk made me gain weight and I didn’t want to get cheap jeans just for them to fall apart when I found my fit. I had questions about the shipping too because I don’t find my fit on the first try and tend to order several pairs. I browsed Alibaba to get an idea of what denim manufacturers were saying on their listings for mid-range jeans — what kind of fabric, the stretch content by percentage, how they reinforce stress points. Quite a few members of the men’s style and clothing facebook group I’m a member of have done some serious diving into denim quality and specifications. They suggested one might not want to go wrong with Levi’s 511 as a good kick around pair, but said the AG Jeans and Madewell had somewhat better constructions for a price point that was reasonable. One of them even listed those types of companies and pointed out that the majority of major clothing retailers not in the fast fashion realm had a threshold for free shipping at a sum that two pairs of jeans would usually make without them having to buy something random to add on. I ended up ordering two pairs of Levis 511 in a time frame where the free shipping threshold of the online retailer I ordered from applied for the entire order. Partially via what I’d seen on Alibaba I understood somewhat better what things like the weight of a denim fabric and other technical specifications really meant as applied to product detail page when it came to this kind of longevity/quality. I’ve worn both of these items regularly for a year and a half and they’re still a presentable garment — so it was worth my while to look into this specification and not just let my defaults pull the first impressions that showed up.
