Can't decide on quotes - what would you do?
I've been gathering quotes for around a week now and have enough to make a decision. However I am more confused/undecided than when I started!
Initially I wanted 5kw of panels, 5kw inverter and around 10kWh battery. I thought this is oversized for my yearly usage of 3200kWh but because it would be split across southeast/northwest roofs, the extra production would help over winter months. And would hopefully speed up the return on investment by exporting the excess.
I also thought that it's cheaper to fill the roof with panels in one go than upgrade later.
Then there's the dilemma of which system to get. I really like the sig software, it seems more stable and reliable but something more budget like Fox would probably be a smarter investment.
However, I don't think I'll be living in this house to see the ROI, I might move in 2-4 years time so I'm wondering if it even matters that I get a future proof system! Maybe I shouldn't be installing solar at all. That'd probably be the smart thing to do.
All of this to say that, I have about 6 quotes now and about 3 look good enough but I can't decide if I should max it or minimize it, kit and panels wise, or not do anything at all. 😖
What would you do?
