MPC Sample midi sync distortion

Hello
Trying to track out a beat tape I made with my Mpc sample and I get this distortion that only happens when midi sync in is in the option midi clock.

The MTC option doesnt have distortion but the alignment is weird as it starts recording from the middle of the sequence.

This happens regardless of the daw, as I tested on Logic and Reaper. I have tested through the outs or through the usbc.

The only parameter that seems to remove it is the sync, and I really didn't want to be aligning clips by hand.

I am on a Mac (of course), has anyone had this problem? I have seen people on youtube track out their beats without a problem.
